Color Of The Season

It was Saturday afternoon, ran to a nail spa. Manicurist asked me to pick a color for my nails. It’s always tough, you have a wall full of nail colors in front of you. All the pressure comes down on that ‘One’ color we are going to select. I never tend to make a hasty decision.

 

Considering its spring. Light, fresh, luxuriant. These adjectives ran through my mind. And what represents these adjectives (for me), is Lilac!!

But hold one, have you thought who decides these colors to be “Season Colors”? Obviously not a random person standing in front of nail colors confused gazing at them. There are color consulting companies and institutes who are involved in this decision. To name one, is “Pantone Color Institute”. They prepare trend forecasting report considering the place, season, material and many other factors. Entire color palette is served to their clients who are famous designers or brands. Hence we see color scheme consistency in regards to fashion.

As per the Pantone Color Institute, they have generated PANTONE FASHION COLOR TREND REPORT for spring 2018, highlighting the top colors. Entire color palette has some significance to a particular season. Lilac, Violette, Azure Blue, Soothing Pink, all come under same family (Atleast for me). These colors represent royalty, elegance, delicacy and freshness. Though i was thrilled to see suits, and i mean well structured suits in lilac and soothing pink as well as handbags, capes, platform shoes, pumps etc in those colors. It inspires you how selected colors represent entire mood  and justify the process.
